AP Studios / Ladies of the Field: Brown is the New Black

It’s National Dairy Month and we’re showcasing the masters behind the milk–dairy cows.  I’ve been shooting for Darigold for over five years and I am always amazed by these resilient, lovable animals. We will be posting photos of these beauties every week until the end of June, so be sure to stay tuned!

She’s half the size with twice the personality.  The Jersey is curious, active and always looking for trouble.  She’s notorious escape artist and pickpocket.  Politically active in the eco-friendly farming movement and a friend to the carbon cautious, just stay out of her way when the dinner bell rings!

Looking this good is practically a full time job.  Sure, she has a healthy diet, good water, fresh air and exercise – but skilled professionals MUST be brought in for hoof care, hair removal and personal moisturizing.  It really pays to hire the best.

Girls like these know that diversity is everything.  They are spreading the word that it’s not just a black and white scene anymore, that modern dairy really gets things like ecology, efficiency and nutrition.  It’s about a new awareness.  It’s protein, and culture.  It’s cheese, man.
