AP Studios / Super Bowl Snacks: Popcorn with Savory Butters

It’s that time of year again–when all your friends and neighbors descend upon your house for Super Bowl Sunday because you decided to invest in a 70-inch HD TV with surround sound. This also means providing them with endless snacks to keep them satisfied through four hours of over the top commercials, Beyonce’s booty shaking, and a little game of football thrown in for good measure. Never fear! These three easy recipes of popcorn with a twist from our latest Darigold Fresh Minis will keep your bros happy and you out of the kitchen.

Parmesan Popcorn
8 cups popped corn
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Darigold butter
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Place popcorn in a large bowl and set aside. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and stir in parmesan cheese. Pour butter mixture over popcorn and toss to coat. Makes 8 servings.

Spiced Lime Popcorn
8 cups popped corn
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Darigold butter
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon finely grated lime peel
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
sea salt to taste

Place popcorn in a large bowl and set aside. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in spices, lime peel and salt. Pour butter mixture over popcorn and toss to coat. Makes 8 servings.

Curry Butter Popcorn
8 cups popped corn
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) Darigold butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons curry powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Sea salt to taste

Place popcorn in a large bowl and set aside. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, curry, cayenne and salt. Pour butter mixture over popcorn and toss to coat. Makes 8 servings.
