And so the story goes, I was planning a trip to New Orleans the year of the flood and never got around to scheduling it again. Then G came along and I wasn’t going to miss it this time!

Chef Scott Boswell owns the best/fanciest place Stella! in the big easy…white tablecloths and the most wonderful cozy dinning rooms (there is a front and back as well as a patio). Chef Scott is the most precise chef I’ve encountered in a really, really long time.  Do it once and do it right, albeit in a low key manner. Southern hospitality that forces you to slow down and enjoy the lovely food as art kind of place.

There is no shortage of food in New Orleans but if you wander down South be sure to check out Chef Scott’s other restaurant – Stanley – a fried chicken joint on Jackson Square. It was the first place up and running, serving food after the flood.  I’m still thinking about that chicken, about how the lickin’ of my fingers never tasted so damn good…
